Leather Products Industry Tools

The tools of the leather products industry are very important, as the leather products industry is one of the profitable industries, and this is often in the Arab countries in particular, and it is one of the projects that are easy to implement, due to the fact that the tools of the industry are easy to obtain, and it will be done Learn about these tools through the Money Makers website.

Leather Products Industry Tools

The goal of the leather products industry project is to design a unique product with perfect quality so that these products are able to compete with the rest of the products in the markets, and there are many leather products in the Arab markets, including:

  • belts.
  • School bags and women's bags.
  • Men's shoes, women's shoes and also children's shoes.
  • Money purses.

There are also many leather products whose production depends on the desire of customers or what the market demands, and these industries need special raw materials for the leather industry, including goats and buffalo skins, which are abundant in all Arab countries, and this is due to the large presence of livestock in them.

The leather products industry also depends on some other raw materials, including chamois leather and glossy leather. There is also esaki leather, which is widely available for the manufacture of leather products and is one of the finest types of artificial leather.

In order to complete all stages of production of leather products, many tools that are used in the industry are required, so the owner of this project must provide them. Among the tools used in the manufacture of leather products:

  • Cutting machines.
  • Manual presses.
  • electric scissors
  • Sewing machines.
  • Frayed sewing machines.
  • Paint pistol.
  • air compressor.
  • Various molds for cutting.
  • Manual counter especially for the leather industry.

All the previous tools are widely available in all Arab countries that facilitate the manufacturing process for all workers.

Stages of production of leather products

After getting acquainted with the tools used in the manufacture of leather products, we learn about all the stages that are implemented in manufacturing, as follows:

  1. The first is concerned with preparing and designing patterns and samples.
  2. The second: is concerned with the manufacture of the leather material to be worked on and its preparation for the cutting stage.
  3. Third: The stage in which the skins are cut according to the samples that were prepared and the numbering of their parts.
  4. Fourth: The stage of pasting the fillers and assembling the skin parts.
  5. Fifth: to finish all products and install what the product needs in terms of its own accessories and luxuries.
  6. Sixth: The product is wrapped, packaged, and stored until its distribution.
  7. Seventh: It is the last stage, which is distributing the product to traders and markets.

Stages of preparing leather for industry

The raw materials used for the manufacture of leather products vary, whether they are natural leather or synthetic leather, so we learn about how to prepare leather for the manufacturing stage, as the leather goes through many industrial stages to be prepared for the manufacture of leather products, and these are the recognized stages:

  • Preparation stage

The skin is prepared and cleaned of all matters related to it, including blood, hair, salt, and other dirt, then it is cut and treated with some special chemicals, which are divided either into granules or cracks.

  • Trimming and sorting stage

In this stage, all skins are sorted according to several factors, including quality and weight, and the purpose of using those skins is renewed to meet all services for production.

  • The stage of liming

At this stage, many of the unwanted organic matter stuck to the skins, such as hair roots, some fats, and protein, are removed, and this is through liming, where the skins are in large basins and work to increase the strength of the skin to get rid of all hair residues and others.

  • Lime removal

During this stage, all chemical and non-liquid calcareous materials are removed from the skin.

  • Mating stage

Much of the proteins are removed and the hides are softened at this stage by introducing the proteolytic proteins inside the hides.

  • Drying stage

This stage is divided into two types:

  • Sun softening: This method is one of the old methods, where the leather is exposed to sunlight in order to be dried, and the decomposition process is stopped at this stage because the leather is permanently dried.
  • Controlled drying: This stage is similar to sun drying but results in more consistent and higher quality leathers, but it is an imperfect process due to which the leathers are damaged by overdrying.

  • Freezing stage

At this stage, the skins are entered into the freezer and the freezing stops the decomposition stage, but some damages occur at this stage, including the leather garments due to their exposure to freezing greatly.

  • The stage of salting

While this stage is also divided into two types:

  • Dry salting: in which the leather is completely salted until the skin is dry, becoming more solid and resistant to bacterial growth.
  • Wet salting: It is soaking the skin in a high-concentration saline solution in order to withdraw moisture from it, and this type is the best in the salting stage.

  • Washing and soaking stage

Salting makes the leather very tough, so the leather is soaked in some basins to remove all the salt and return the moisture to the leather, after which the leather is cut and some unnecessary parts are removed.

  • Tanning stage

At this stage, raw leather is converted into stable leather or a stable raw material that does not have any rotting or decomposing agents, and some chemicals are used, as each piece of leather needs different mechanical procedures from the other.

  • Finishing stage

This is the last stage in the stage of preparing leather for the manufacture of leather products.

Materials used in the tanning stages

As we mentioned the tools for making leather products, we will learn about the materials used in the tanning stage, which come as follows:

  • chrome tanning

It is one of the latest methods used in tanning at the present time, as it gives the leather a pale blue color, and it also gives the leather the property of resisting shrinkage in hot water.

  • Vegetable tanning

It is one of the old methods used in leather tanning, and it makes the leather less susceptible to bacteria and has less solubility in water, as well as making it more flexible.

  • Chemical tanning

Some chemicals are added at this stage, which is one of the most important tools for the manufacture of leather products, by soaking the leather in huge drums so that the tanning liquid can penetrate inside the leather.

Conditions of the leather products industry

There are a lot of sanitary conditions that need to be observed in the leather products industry as there are some leather products making tools working all the time, which causes health damage to the workers inside the factories.

Also, leather waste, such as its metal accessories, and some damaged parts in it, the owners of these projects must dispose of them properly so as not to harm the environment with them.

Therefore, it is necessary to follow some preventive matters in these works in order not to harm workers or harm the environment and others.
